Intensive English Program (IEP) and Pathway
Intensive English Program (IEP)
Ms. Faith McKinney, Senior Director of International Center and Programs Abroad
Concordia University’s Intensive English Program (IEP) is a WASC accredited, academically-focused English language proficiency program. Students are accepted for intermediate to advanced levels. Strong oral and written language skills are emphasized in the curriculum, preparing students for academic success and professional communication. Our advanced levels provide the necessary support for students to obtain the level needed to enter undergraduate or graduate programs. This support is achieved by providing students with one-on-one attention from professors with advanced degrees. We also offer students opportunities to practice English inside and outside the classroom. As a result, IEP students are an integral part of the Concordia family. Students are actively integrated into the life of the campus, where they not only learn but also use their practical English skills. Extracurricular opportunities range from interacting with their American roommates in the Global Village residence hall to becoming a member of the Global Citizen’s Club.
Our program equips students with strategies for cultural competence as well as success in their academic endeavors through the many majors and degrees offered at Concordia. Students who successfully complete Level 6 and meet all other university admission requirements are able to apply for the undergraduate and graduate programs Concordia University.
