Course Description

The study of advanced assessment and treatment of substance use, process addictions, and co-occurring disorders. Pharmacology and physiological impacts of addiction including the impact on brain functioning are analyzed. This course offers students the opportunity to evaluate and implement addiction specific assessments, theories, interventions, treatment planning and ethical decision making processes for adolescents, adults, and families impacted by addiction. Prerequisite: COUN 613.
