Course Description

This culminating manual serves as the final course experience for graduate students in the coaching and athletics or exercise sciences program. The course integrates advanced theoretical and practical knowledge, applied research, and professional practice to demonstrate mastery of a sport discipline. Students synthesize learning from prior coursework in four core courses and two elective courses, along with developing a research proposal, a virtual business card, and creating an e-portfolio. Through guided facilitation, students will design and complete an evidence-based manual that reflects current issues and innovations in athletics administration (MCAA) or exercise science (MSCE). Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, ethical decision-making, data analysis, and the translation of scientific principles into practical coaching and athletics administration or exercise sciences applications. Concurrent enrollment in an elective course only is permitted. This class must be taken in the final term of the student’s degree program. Graduation Application Fee: $185. Offered as a Pass/No Pass course.
